Marapachi Bommai SMALL wooden dolls / Bommala Koluvu / Pattada gombe /lakadee ke dol is a traditional toy played by kids. The doll is made out of Red wood. Traditionally kids bathe and dress up the dolls, with saree, and jewels. Male and Female dolls come in pairs.Ayudha pooja festival, and on Navarathri Golu decked with these dolls. A tradition Marapachi dolls are a hereditary gift from Parents to her daughter on her wedding day .A particular practice followed in South India is to gift the Marapachi Dolls /Wooden dolls to newly married couple for their children to play with. During the Golu festival, which is held in South India, as part of Navratri festival, particularly in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, the Marapachi dolls are part of the display. In the traditional Navratri Golu arrangements, the top tier is assigned for the display of Marapachi Dolls.
